You don’t need another $200 analog emulation, and you don’t need another 40-minute YouTube tutorial explaining what a compressor threshold does on paper. If your mixes still sound congested, harsh, and small the second 70 tracks play together, buying more plugins and passively watching videos won't fix it. Great mixing isn’t an inventory problem—it’s an evaluation problem. You don’t need more theory; you need a mechanical diagnostic framework and real-time feedback on your actual sessions. Welcome to a live, hands-on, diagnostic mixing cohort. Over five weeks, we ditch the sterile acoustic demos and dive straight into dense, complex multitracks from heavy metal and hard-hitting hip-hop sessions. Working together in an intimate, focused group, you will learn the exact signal flow, phase alignment, and frequency carving frameworks professional mix engineers rely on to build punchy, release-ready tracks that translate to any playback system. You will build a standardized session architecture utilizing modern Routing Folders in Pro Tools (or your DAW of choice) to keep your sessions visually organized and eliminate digital distortion before touching a single fader. Through live hot-seat mix audits, you will develop diagnostic ear training to instantly spot low-end masking, execute decisive corrective carving, and apply top-down mix buss processing. You will stop second-guessing every knob turn and start making fast, deliberate decisions. Meet Your Instructor Erik Rives is an audio and mix engineer specializing in high-density, aggressively dynamic genres, including Death Metal, Thrash, Rap, and Hip-Hop. With practical experience engineering live sound and acoustics for over 100 large-scale events, his approach to audio is rooted in real-world, diagnostic problem-solving. Beyond the mixing console, Erik brings over a decade of experience mentoring and guiding adult learners in structured educational environments. He runs an ego-free, practical room where technical bottlenecks are systematically broken down into clear, repeatable steps. Prerequisites This class is designed for intermediate producers and engineers. You should be comfortable navigating Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or your preferred DAW, and understand basic audio importing and track organization.

We’re drilling polyrhythm, fast footwork, floor transitions, and choreo🔥🔥🔥 Pull up, catch the energy and learn some #afrodance moves🔥 *Afrodance / Afro Dance* Afrodance is an umbrella term for modern dance styles that come from across the African continent and diaspora, usually set to Afrobeats, Amapiano, Kuduro, Ndombolo, Azonto, Coupé-Décalé, and other contemporary African genres. *Core elements* - *Music first*: The movement is driven by the drum patterns, bass lines, and breaks in the music. If the beat switches, the body switches. - *Groove and bounce*: Grounded posture with a relaxed bounce in the knees. Energy comes from the core and hips, not stiff or upright. - *Polyrhythm*: Different parts of the body can do different rhythms at once. Shoulders, hips, and feet might each hit separate parts of the beat. - *Footwork*: Quick, intricate steps. Lots of pivots, taps, slides, and weight changes. Floor patterns can be linear or circular. - *Isolations + texture*: Shoulders, chest, waist, and hips are articulated separately. Movements can be smooth, sharp, bouncy, or wavy depending on the track. - *Freestyle culture*: Steps and choreo exist, but personal flavor is key. Dancers add their own style, attitude, and signature moves. *How it differs from other styles* **Style** **Main feel** **Afrobeats dance** Party energy, Nigerian/Ghanaian steps, social and upbeat **Kuduro** Angolan, fast and aggressive, powerful legs and jumps **Ndombolo** Congolese, rapid hip rolls and pelvic movement **Azonto** Ghanaian, playful, uses hand gestures and everyday mimicry **Coupé-Décalé** Ivorian, flashy, attitude-heavy, big arm movements Afrodance pulls from all of these. A class might mix Azonto grooves, Ndombolo hips, and Kuduro power in one combo. *Vibe of class* Expect high energy, lots of cardio, and call-and-response with the instructor. It’s equal parts workout, culture, and self-expression. No partner needed. All bodies welcome, though int/adv levels move fast and expect stamina. *Why people love it* It feels free. You’re working out but it doesn’t feel like gym reps. You connect to the music, learn about different African cultures, and leave sweating with a smile.
